Building on the incredible sucess of the inaugural 2011 event which contributed over $250,000 in direct economic benefit, over $330,000 in 2012 and a total of $1.56M of direct and indirect economic benefit in 2013 to the greater Coastside community, our event makes a difference. And, we received the coveted Gold Level Certification from the Council for Responsible Sport for our GREEN efforts to ensure the HMBIM is a good steward of our beautiful resources, so you can associate your organization with a worthy and conscientious event.

The HMBIM offers partners the ability to help the local community and the impact the events make both economically and emotionally. For many runners, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and for the local community, they are inspired by the courage and fortitude of the many who toe the line.

By partnering with the HMBIM, you will have the chance to promote your business or organization with an event that is good for the community, good for fitness and good for your business. We invite you to take advantage of our partnership program and be a part of one of the premier Bay Area and Coastside events.

Local Influence

Bay Area Influence

The Half Moon Bay International Marathon (HMBIM) is the premiere running event on the Bay Area Coast. Marathons continue to challenge the imagination and fortitude of people throughout the world. In 2010, there were over 500,000 marathon finishers, illustrating the enormous growth of the sport, with a large percentage of runners choosing an event more than 100 miles from their home

We offer our partners an amazing opportunity for brand recognition and expansion and associating your organization with a first-class event.  If you're a Bay Area brand, over 69% of our registered athletes come from Bay Area counties. If you're a local Half Moon Bay business, we are bringing 2000-3000 people to Half Moon Bay for the event. Our marketing expenditures are not for recuriting athletes because we sell out early each year. 100% of the funds spent on promotions are to the community for awareness and to build excitment and support. The HMBIM truly appreciates our partners' support, and we are delivering real value for the contribution in return.

Opportunities

Partnership Opportunities

There are many levels of partnership available:

  • 1 Presenting partner "Presented by (your brand)"
  • 2 Platinum level partners
  • 1 GREEN partner
  • 5 Gold level partners
  • Unlimited Silver level partnerrs
  • 39 Mile Marker sponsorships
  • Packet pickup marketing opportunities

The HMBIM is doing everything possible to make the best experience for all of the athletes and spectators. One of the most visible aids for the runners is the mile markers, and the HMBIM has designed some dramatic, highly-visible signs for this.

The mile markers are an incredible 16 feet (for the Full) and 10 feet (for the Half) in height, and they are "feather" banners, which do very well with any coastal wind we may experience. Our design is below, and as you can see, the partner's name is featured prominently at the top! For a small fee which includes the production of the actual banner, your company or organization will be featured prominently to all of the runners and spectators out enjoying the event letting them know you support the community!

We have several of the mile markers already committed so don't delay!!
