HMBIM Course Tour - Southern Section

Aug 27, 2013

When: Saturday August 31st at 9:00 AM

Where: Half Moon Bay State Beach 95 Kelly Ave. Half Moon Bay, CA ($10 park entrance fee, or you can park on Kelly Ave. and walk/run in)

Event Registration (FREE): http://halfmoonbayimcoursetours.brownpapertickets.com/

Who: HMBIM registered runners and friends.

Availability: Limited to first 30 runners (sign up using the link above)

Your Hosts:

Franz Dill (HMBIM Assistant RD & Director of Training)
Members of the Coastside Running Club
Members of the Sunday Run Group

The Goal:

The HMBIM Course Tours' goal is to bring runners out to the HMBIM course to share some pre-race excitement, develop running friendships, and get a feel for the course. This has been a highlight of the HMBIM in year's past. Leave your tempo training and race pace runs for another day and settle into Conversational Pace (CP) and enjoy some Coastside miles with new friends.

Distances / Course:

This Saturday's distances will be 3.5, 8.5, and 14.5 miles along the Southern portion of the course, mostly common to both the 1/2 and full marathon with some (the Southern bluffs) exclusive to the marathon distance.

Course Tour Map is located here.

Fluids and Food:

This is a self supported run so bring your favorite food and drink (during and post run). Remeber to train with the HMBIM on-course sports drink provider Cliff so your body is accustomed to race day fluids.  Water will be available at mile 4 and 5.5 (at Redondo).  For those going 14.5 miles you'll have access to your car or water at HMB state park before proceeding North on the Coastal Trail.

Post Run:

Since we're stationed more towards Half Moon Bay proper, there's plenty of food along Main Street, Cameron's Restaraunt & Pub just South of our meeting spot, or a local favorite Tres Amigos on Kelly Ave.

See You Saturday!

Franz Dill, HMBIM Assistant RD & Director of Training
